Sweet Home San Diego

We just got back from another excitement-filled trip to San Diego. And by excitement-filled, I mean Carter learning how to open the doors and wandering into the front yard and swimming pool unsupervised. (Luckily, somebody always spotted him within a few seconds.) Here's the pictorial of our week:

In the Pool
This time, supervised. One cool thing I've observed: any time Carter starts to walk around the pool, Aunt Debby's labrador will run over and walk along with him, between him and the pool. It's like she's protecting Carter from falling in!

At the Zoo
The weather was nice and cool (OK, cold) the first day we went to the zoo, so the animals were out and active for once! We got up close and personal with the hippo, the gorillas, and of course the goats in the petting zoo.

At the Beach
It was too cold to get into the water, so instead we stayed on the shore and built sand castles. And Carter threw a lot of sand, which is always a treat.

At Disneyland
Haley was a superstar! Who knew that our cautious girl was a closet adrenaline-junkie? She went on every big ride in the park, and declared Space Mountain her favorite. On Thunder Mountain Railroad, she kept her hands in the air the entire ride, even though the safety bar was about 6 inches above her lap! Carter was not so brave, crying "I don't like it!" on every ride for about the first eight hours. After that, though, he started to enjoy himself, even shouting "Again!" after the rocket ride.

(Carter likes to be just like Dad.)

Yeah San Diego! Go Padres!

Those pictures are darling and it looks like so much fun! And Katie, you seriously do NOT look 16 weeks pregnant (x2)! You look great!

Well, that's a very flattering picture - I think Haley's leg is in the way. I'm actually measuring about 7 weeks big, so I am huge already! (I didn't know you were a Padres fan! We LOVE the Pads!)
