One is a Beauty, One is Steathy, and the Others are Schemers

I think the fun in Halloween is the chance to dress up and be something you're not.  Change your identity, hide who you really are, be somebody else for a night.  And yet this year, my kids' costumes were unintentionally but amazingly representative of who they really are.

Haley is blossoming into a beautiful young lady.  I see her putting the little girl she was behind herself every day as she grows and spreads her wings.  She insists on doing her own hair, she loves pop music, and she's starting to care more about her future and the goals she hopes to achieve.
Carter is stealthy; a force to be reckoned with.  You might never guess because he's so introverted, but his teacher refers to him as "gifted" and talks about what amazing things he does in school.  He goes about, getting things done and learning new skills, without ever letting anybody know what he's up to.
Adam and Drew are truly each others' best friends.  They play together all day, racing cars, building with Legos, creating marble tracks from Play-Doh, and of course, causing mischief.  Some days it seems like their only goal is to drive their older siblings crazy, but deep down they're sweet as can be.

The kids had a great time wearing their costumes to different parties and out trick-or-treating.  And even though putting costumes together every year is hugely stressful, I never regret doing it.  The glee on their faces as they run around in masquerade is totally worth it.

Love those costumes. Haley and Lucia could've flittered around together!
